Fiona Hayles

Managing Partner

Fiona is one of the UK's foremost financial litigators and recognised expert in the field of Consumer Credit Claims. Qualifying as a solicitor in 2002 Fiona specialised very early on in financial sector litigation, initially with Wragge & Co (now Gowlings) and then increasingly senior roles before becoming Partner and Head of Banking Litigation at Harrison Clark Rickerbys.

She has worked with many well-known high street lenders, with a notable track record in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, including the leading PPI mis-selling case of Plevin v Paragon Personal Finance Limited. She brings a remarkable energy and focus to Hyperian, born out of a strong personal conviction that justice, fair outcomes and effective representation should be available to all.

Jon Whitbread

Chairman

Jon is Chairman of Hyperian Law and has extensive restructuring, corporate finance and legal knowledge and experience. Prior to Hyperian, Jon was an equity partner and Head of Finance & Financial Services at Harrison Clark Rickerbys. Before his time there, Jon trained and spent 8 years at Gowling WLG (formerly Wragge & Co).

Jon is a member of the Institute for Turnaround and an expert in corporate restructuring.

Daniel Godfrey

Partner

Dan has over 15 years' experience in the legal sector. He was an associate solicitor at Harrison Clark Rickerbys before moving to Hyperian as Senior Associate. During his time at HCR, Dan established himself as one of the country's brightest talents in the field of Debt Recovery. He oversaw significant growth in the team both in terms of staff and client base.

Dan's experience of both the technical side of finance-based litigation and the fast-paced nature of volume debt recovery and general commercial litigation make him an invaluable asset to the senior team.

Michelle Orton

Associate

Michelle has over 17 years’ experience in the legal sector and qualified as a solicitor in October 2014. She has significant experience advising on banking and financial disputes.

Michelle started her career at HSBC and after qualifying as a Solicitor became Legal Counsel in HSBC’s Legal Department before moving to the Financial Services Disputes and Investigations Team as an Associate with Eversheds-Sutherland dealing with Consumer Credit Claims.

Michelle joined Hyperian Law in June 2024 and believes strongly in access to justice and effective representation being available to all.

Maddie Hough

Litigation Executive

After gaining her law degree, Maddie joined Harrison Clark Rickerbys where she completed her Legal Practice Course alongside a Masters in Law. As a paralegal she spent five years working in Dispute Resolution and Debt Recovery before moving into Commercial Litigation. For the two years prior to joining Hyperian, Maddie worked closely with Fiona Hayles in the areas of Consumer Credit Claims and PCP and that effective partnership has now been renewed.

Vicky Harding

Paralegal

Following the completion of her law degree and Bar Practice Course, Vicky started her career as a paralegal at Harrison Clark Rickerbys. Working within the Dispute Resolution team, Vicky quickly found a niche in financial litigation and is now bringing her skill and energies to Hyperian Law. Having supported a number of pro bono initiatives in recent years, Vicky is a strong believer in effective representation being available to all.

Alfira Anwar

Paralegal

After earning her law degree and completing a master’s in law, Alfira joined Hyperian as a paralegal, bringing over two years of expertise in Consumer Credit Claims, PPI, and PCP. Her experience in Dispute Resolution has involved managing complex cases and offering comprehensive advice to clients. Alfira is dedicated to delivering fairness and justice, ensuring her clients' rights are upheld and their needs are met. Her commitment to high-quality legal support and her passion for consumer rights make her a valuable asset to Hyperian.

Angel Lgah

Paralegal

Following the completion of her law degree, Angel started her career as a paralegal. Working within housing and asset-based lending, Angel is now bringing her experience of litigation to Hyperian Law. Having participated in volunteering and Legal Aid work, Angel believes in access to justice for all and brings her experience of working with a wide range of clients to achieve a resolution. Angel works collectively with the team on PCP claims.

Sophie Ginger

Admin Assistant

Sophie began her career at Harrison Clark Rickerbys and after obtaining her ILEX Level 2 qualification became a highly valued and experienced member of the Debt Recovery and Insolvency teams handling volume client instructions alongside individual files.

After moving on from Harrison Clark Rickerbys Sophie joined the Civil Litigation team at QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright where she was PA to the partner dealing with Commercial and Contractual disputes and Landlord and Tenant claims and processes.

Sophie is now bringing her enthusiasm, excellent organisational skills and administration experience to Hyperian Law to assist in the smooth running of the team.
